New toilet

Days go by and even though Hector feels himself very useless, living with his friends goes surprisingly smoothly.

Ken and Kaarna are adding last year’s photos on their photo album.

Hector watches them for a while and says:
- You two look so adorable in those outfits. Like little bundles curled up on that sofa.

Ken repeats Hector’s words:
- Little bundles. Bundles of love… Nippuset… How does that sound to you, Kaarna? I want to be Nippunen.
- I’m even more Nippunen than you are! Let’s be Nippuset!

(Sorry, this sucks in English, but now Ken and Kaarna have a last name. And an address too.)

The plumbers have done their part and the rest of the renovation is up to Ken.

He paints and wallpapers the walls, hangs some shelves and brings a big mirror from his own home.

Ken takes the smaller mirror from Filia and gives it a new home in his own hallway.
Hector has made lunch and asks Ken to carry the pot to the table.

Ken is thankful for Hector’s cooking, but he says:
- You really should be resting instead of being a master chef! Where’s Kaarna?
- Outside with Sulo.

- Good. I had hoped she would help me with the renovation, but taking care of the dog is a big help too. I’m exhausted.
- Is all this too much for you? I’m sorry to be the one adding your burden.
- You’re not a burden to me, Hector. You are dear to me and I’m happy to be able to help you.

Kaarna loves playing with Sulo. These moments make her dream of a dog of her own, but she knows that being the fun Aunt Kaarna is so much better than being Kaarna the Mother. Aunts get to pick the cherry on top of the cake, while mothers carry heavy loads of responsibility on their shoulders.

The new little toilet gets crowded when everybody brings their personal items.

Filia says happily:
- I found this pig pot at a thrift store the other day! It’s just like the one I once gave to you, strong girl!

- Gulp… what a coincidence…

Ken hands Kaarna a picture frame and asks:
- Would you like to create art more of our style to replace the angel?
- Toilet art? Will do! Now both of you go away! It’s time for a test drive.

Kaarna appreciates the warmth when pooping.

The indoor toilet will be a real life saver for Filia. And for Ken also, since he will be an elderly in no time at all!
